I wonder if you'd feel the same way if he was still with the vikes, but now that he's a division rival, he's a cancer?

I think the biggest problem he had in Minny is that he had a horrible coach with no clue.

    Ax,

No. I have absolutely no respect for Randy the man -- or perpetual boy, really. Of course I admire what he can do on the field, when he wants to...

I'm starting to sober up, so it's time to go see my one of my favorite local musicians and enjoy my Friday night.

For a few years, Randy Moss was not debatable the best receiver in the NFL, but not anymore.
  • Just wait till Moss scorches the Broncs this fall, you'll be singin' a different tune.....

Can't wait for 11/13 and 12/24!! By the time 12/24 rolls around mossless will most likely be MIA. He decides when to pencil in his own "BYE" on the schedule, so enjoy him when you can!

  • Wow, I'm surprised someone (who's obviously a good artist) would dedicate so much time to drawing up that shot.

No offense to the Broncos (a good friend of mine is a fan), but Moss will scorch that secondary...just like Indy has done each of the past, what, 3 years?

Expect HUGE games from Moss this year as he has a strong hand at the helm coaching him (instead of that doormat Tice).

Depends on whether or not you believe Champ Bailey, or Chump Bailey (the one who was on the field the last ten games) will be back there. I think Champ will rebound this year and be able to shut some people down. Judging by the draft the Broncos are obviously committed to their secondary. Moss is going to get his TD's and big plays but those don't always equal wins.

What does that have to do with him walking off the field and being a horses a$$? Mike Tice's problems were everything except Randy Moss.

With a strong coach who isn't a moron that wouldn't have happened...a real coach wouldn't have allowed that to happen. He would have sat him down for the next game, and not been afraid to upset him.

<< <i> Good luck getting anyone for me if you try to trade me. >>

There are 31 GMs in the NFL who would have gladly traded for Randy Moss. If you think otherwise, you don't know the NFL at all.

Remember how Corey Dillon was perceived as a cancer for the Bengals? But suddenly he goes to the Patriots and no longer is one?

<< <i>Funny, I recall reading/hearing reports that there were very few GM's that inquired about him before he was finally dealt.

Also, if Randy pushes it so the Vikes have very little bargaining power to deal him, they end up with the type of deal that that was made for TO. >>

Funny how you use hearsay and rumor as the basis for your debate. Laughable even.

Randy did push it so the Vikes had to deal him, and they ended up with a sweet deal (uhm, #7 overall pick anyone?).

There isn't a GM in the league who wouldn't want one of the top 2 WRs in the game on their team. You, sir, are delusional.

Saying GM's who'd want him and GM's that inquired about him are two different things. You didn't refute my statement that few GM's inquired, all you did was say that all 31 GM's would love to have him on their team.
    >>

And you didn't refute that every GM would like Moss on their team.

Teams strapped for cap room, teams with nothing to offer OF COURSE aren't going to make an offer you twit. Yes, every team would be better with him on their team. No, not every team is in a position to make an offer, so of course they aren't going to.

I find a recurring theme over and over on these boards-when a player goes to a new team that did tons for their old ones, suddenly they are outcasts who are bums and now the old team is somehow better off.

I've seen this attitude with former Mariner players (namely Griffey and Arod) where their tremendous efforts are somehow obliterated when they got traded or signed elsewhere - and I've never understood it.

I am betting you are a Vikings fan who loved every minute of Randy Moss - his 'mooning' in Green Bay, all the years of putting up godly numbers, but now, somehow all you can focus on is the negative.

Nice of you to take a discussion and turn it into name calling.

    You're a classy guy. >>

First, thanks for recognizing that. Second I call a spade a spade...if your 'discussion' is full of holes I am going to call you on it.

'They didn't win anything with him in Minnesota'. huh? How many times did they make the playoffs with Tice as head coach and Moss there, and how many times did they make the playoffs and be real contenders with Denny Green and Moss? Perhaps (no, it is) Tice is the weak link?

At first you were against the trade now suddenly you were then for it? Huh? Between those changes in emotion, did Moss not put up numbers that justified the change? Oh wait, nothing changed but your turning your back on one of the best players to ever put on a Vikings uniform. It's a typical feeling that somehow when a player changes team you should shun them and despise them simply because he's on another team.

No I am not justifying his walking off the field...but come on, do you think that would have happened with Denny Green or any other stern coach at the helm?

It's pointless trying to make these types of statements to someone who obviously feels that Moss somehow abandoned his team, and that his past contributions are somehow null and void. I will never understand that mentality.
