How many graders work at PSA?

Howdy!
How many graders does psa employ?? Just curious! I see some of "us" are having long waits for submissions!! Maybe it's time to train and hire some more help!

I believe there are 6 full time graders..........................also a number of laid-off Keebler Elves have been hired.

...and of course January thru October many of Santa's elves moonlite.

    Carew29-
I feel for you!! I've never had to wait that long for grades to be posted and I've done plenty of the $5 specials with no guaranteed turn around times. I've been fortunate to have all my grades posted with 2 weeks on all my $5 subs. But things are a changin'!! I've had an order at psa since May 31 with the May special. It is now all of 17 days counting the weekends. AFter watching your plight unfold over the past week I'm hoping by the 4th of July??? Who knows!! Hang in there!

My submissions all depend on the type and number of cards I send in.

A vintage submission of 48 cards (1931 Churchman Golf)
    Received: 3/14/2005
    Grades Posted: 4/11/2005

A vintage submission of 46 cards (1927 Churchman Golf)
    Received: 4/15/2005
    Grades Posted: 05/06/2005

A modern submission of 20 cards:

    Received: 5/25/2005
    Grades Posted: 6/1/2005

A vintage submission of 8 cards (1927 Churchman Golf):
    Received: 5/24/2005
    Grades Posted: 6/16/2005

A modern submission of 20 cards:
    Received: 06/15/2005
    Grades Posted: 06/17/2005

I haven't sent in my monthly special submission yet, so I can't comment on how long that one will take yet.

Although I get anxious, I have no complaints with PSA's turn around times.

I agree with vintagegolfcollector. It seems the modern cards get turned around very quickly, even on the $5 no-guarantee specials, while the truly vintage material lingers on the grading floor. From that you might conclude that PSA has plenty of people who can grade a 1987 Bonds or a 2001 Pujols, and only a few people who are experts on older cards. Seems logical, given the volume they get of each.

Sorry thanks for playing with that one. Mine are Carew cards in the 1972-1992 special. For your entertainment please check the dates on the these two submissions i sent. Try explaining this one to me because PSA couldn't on Friday per TERRIAL COLE.

I've had pretty good turnaround times lately, but this is something I've been worried about. We have to remember that PSA is part of a public company -- and one way public companies make sure they make their quarterly numbers is keep labor costs low. I can't see them hiring a bunch of graders to keep up with demand -- they'd rather keep that cost stable, and increase submissions to improve their bottom line. Still, they are the best in the business, hands down, and have set the gold standard for grading. I'd like to see them keep it that way. If I have to wait a while, I don't mind, as long as the grading is consistent and it doesn't get out of hand. May 7 seems like a long time ago--maybe you should call them or something. I've been getting 67s and 57s back in about three to four weeks, max.....

I did call, on friday. I spoke to TERRIAL COLE who couldn't give me a straight answer. I also left a vm for Justin. I never did hear from him as well.
