I had the chance to image this coin yesterday and it's just about the nicest Proof Copper Nickel cent I've ever seen. It is NOT mine, but I thought some would really enjoy seeing such a wonderful coin. So, let's call it a Happy Father's Day gift for any Dad that loves nice coins or Copper Nickel Proofs.

Very nice job on the pic. I wish I was a fraction that good at coin photos.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

the 3 symmetrical marks on the rim suggest jewelry piece???
Neither is correct and let me explain. This coin is still in the first generation "rattler" holder and those familiar with them know that they had small plastic "tabs" (for lack of a better word) that were supposed to keep the coin from rotating and making that famous "rattle" noise we've all come to love and adore. Notice what Mike and cougar are referring to are at the rims at 6:00 and 12:00 obverse and reverse respectively. They are actually plastic but a bit thicker and therfore appear a slightly different color.
Hope that clears things up.
