Does SCD still grade cards?

I couldn't find a website for their grading. Does anyone have any info on the matter?

I saw that bbcexchange has an SCD 8 84/85 star Jordan on ebay. I have that set and was thinking of having it SCD graded so it could yeild the price bbce is getting. Any thoughts or info is appreciated.

No, they are no longer in the grading business. GAI now does Star basketball.

  • There is a new company using the SCD logo and misleading a lot of people call Sports Card Direct. I think one of the board members emailed them and they said they had "aquired" the card grading division from SCD. Yeah, right......

I got to the bottom line of SCD and the new SCD (Sports Cards Direct). The old SCD (Sports Collector's Digest) went belly up. The new SCD (Sports Cards Direct) bought out the old SCD grading. They can still use the acronym, but not Sports Collector's Digest. The holder, flip, insert, etc is the same.......just the name is different. Although, I don't think their grading standards are as good as the original. A lot of cards being auctioned off recently by "collectingconcepts" in the new SCD 10, clearly shows they're not really 10s. A lot of them are off-centered. The new company has since been relocated and they've hired new investors. This is their new website.
