The appeal last year was the big time, ultra-hyped rookies of Lebron, Melo, Darko, Bosh and Wade. This year...who do you have? Howard and Gordon. They hardly hold a candle to the hype we saw last year of the big 5. So IMHO, they better step it up a lot this year! Last years product was great imo, but without big time rookies with the kind of hype we had last year, the appeal is going to be down unless it's just an unbelievable product. I'll watch the first few boxes get opened and see what's coming out of it...Then I'll decide if I'll buy any. I did buy a case last year when it first came out, I got it for $1275, now you can't get a pack for that price, I have a feeling that won't be the case this year. Keep in mind too, there is no Okafor (ROY) or Wade auto's to be had in this product this year as Fleer had Wade exclusive and Topps has Okafor. Those would have been 2 big draws for Exquisite... The logo patches being more prevalent this year and being autographed is much cooler than last year too.

We'll have to see how it goes, I really didn't think they'd do it again, but I was wrong. I think they could have done it with football last year and pulled it off, maybe they'll do it this year.

Does anyone have a good explanation as to why Exquisite packs went up so dramatically in the past few months? I'd say that most of the people (maybe two-thirds) who opened a pack and talked about it either here or on the Beckett boards were very disappointed. People were considering themseves lucky if they sold off the contents for $300 on eBay.

Most of the Rc auto patches were selling for bank especially the Lebron, MELO,Wade and Bosh. Its like gambling.

I understand that the product shipped today to dealers for 6/27 release and that it may be hard to get.
Some dealers are not getting any and having to buy @ $500/box.

The most expensive card set of the year dedicated to one of the least popular of the major sports.....Football is americas sports, Baseball is americas pasttime, Hockey is americas joke, and Basketball is america's "????" I cant stand the game today.....

Yeah i know...I collect a psa graded basketball set.....maybe im a hypocrit....but that was late 80's basketball....not 2005 basketball.....As soon as the player's uni's went ghetto I lost interest......As soon as Bird, McHale, and Parrish retired from the Celtics and they went to pot....I lost interest....LOOK AT THESE CARDS!!!! THE "REAL" SELLING POINT IS THE 80's STARS FEATURED IN FLEER's LATE 80's SETS!!!!

I CANT STAND THIS GAME.....but I love espn classic replay's of 1980's games.....

Now that ive stated this id LOVE to have any of those cards with 80's stars on them....BUT at 500 a pack...They wont see a dime of my money.....ill go put a dollar in the ohio lotto thank you very much....prolly be just as lucky...
