Me smells a cheese eatin' rat

Pretty good job Frank "Crybaby" Robinson to know that Donnelly would have pine tar in his glove as soon as he came out of the bullpen. Frank didn't even wait for him to get to the mound before he was already talking to Tim Tesheda. How would Frank know this little tidbit of information. HMMMM, could it be JOSE GUILLEN? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Jose knew and figured what a good way to get back at his old team. I am also pretty sure one of the Angel players told that to Guillen as well on the field. Kudo's to the Angels for getting rid this of cheese eatin' rat or is it " NAT". And just to be fair on this story, Pedro Martinez had some on the side of his pants during his last start. Amazingly he was not tossed for this. Ever wonder why?

It wouldn't have taken a genious for Donnelly to take the mound without the pine tar. At least don't have the manager cry like a two year after his pitcher was caught breaking the rules.

Have a pitcher dot Guillen if he felt the Angels were wronged by him, don't serve him up a dinger.
  • I WOULD DO THE SAME THING IF AN OPPOSING PLAYER WAS CHEATING!! its common sense fella's...any edge that someone has over my team i am going to try and stop, period end of story- Jose Guillen did the right thing (for once in the eyes of LAA fans' minds)
Looking to Trade and Buy Tony Romo GU/Autos/RCS
  • I read where Donnelly said that many pitchers have pine tar on their gloves and that he wouldnt be surprised if quite a few pitchers show up with new gloves for their next start.

My guess would be that is was common knowledge that he, and the others, cheat. F. Robby just called him on it this time.

    Wow I smell fan bias!

Who cares where Robinson got his info from? He was CHEATING, it doesn't matter who or where he got the information from.

And is it just me, or has Scioscia really turned into a cry baby? I mean dude, your pitcher got caught cheating, and you come out whining and crying, yelling at Robinson, one of the most respected people in ALL of baseball?

The rat here by FAR is scioscia. He should just take his hat and chew on it next time he feels like whining.

While I think it is obvious that Donnelly "broke the rules" but as baseball fans know there is also an unwritten code of conduct between the players. Here is an interesting blog from Todd Jones of the Florida Marlins: Link to BLOG

Here is a particular paragraph that mentions code of conduct which I think is what got Scioscia fired up:

<< <i>Last week in Anaheim, a pitcher was checked before he ever threw a pitch and was subsequently ejected. Sounds like an inside job to me. Maybe Frank Robinson was tipped off. Make your own conclusions. I have played with guys that scuffed or used pine tar when I played with them. The next year I was told in not too many words that if that player got checked, that player would retaliate. To me that meant, "Hey, you didn't mind me scuffing or using pine tar when we were teammates. So don't rat me out now." >>

As a side note, I like Scioscia reply when told that Guillen called him a piece of garbage and can go to h3ll. He basically replied that he has moved on and he is glad that those anger management classes helped Guillen.
Looking for Los Angeles/California/Anaheim Angels in PSA 8 or better
