Everybody, Man or Women, that has served this great Country or is still currently serving, is a hero to me.

Lucy thanks you all from the bottom of her heart, of the great sacrifices made, that allow me to be free....

I just love this coin, my latest to the HepKitty collection:

    Nice coin, Lucy.
I hope to get to Washington this fall and see Arlington, Mount Vernon and the V. V. memorial.

I think I still prefer the POW coin better ... even tho' my older brothers both served during Vietnam. Probably because one of our uncles survived the Bataan Death March ...

I have been looking for one of those for my type set. They all seem to come in a 3 coin set. Great coin.

I'm in the Washington area 2-3 times a year and make it a point to walk the wall of honor. The World War II memorial is quite nice also. God bless our troops.

The Vietnam Memorial area is worth a visit. My favorite place to take visitors here is the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, especially at night, because as you sit there you can turn and see Arlington Cemetary behind you, The Vietnam Memorial/statues to the left, and the WWII Memorial at end of the Reflecting Pool with the Washington Monument and Capital in the background. A very moving sight IMHO, captured in part by the coin.

  • Semper Fi, Lucy! When I got out of the Corps everyone hated us for Nam. Since Desert Storm the respect-o-meter did a one-eighty. And now we have 1700+ dead - war sucks. To quote the American Legion: "Freedom isn't free."

    Peace.
