Talk about a scam....

Someone throw the linky up for me please on this one---ebay # 5209332892

What a bunch of crap in the description---

Please note that we are selling this one-of-a-kind masterpiece card as a 'work of art' and is intended for novelty purposes only. It is an 'aftermarket item' and was not issued from the factory as such. By bidding on this item, you have read and understood the description.!

    Link

Why doesn't he use his printer and his clear labels to put "Jackie Robinson Rookie Card" on there along with the 1/1? Not much sillier than what he's already done.

Now I know what art is..... I guess I'm a little slow. Ruin a card and then it's art. Just amazing.

I think I'm gonna get in on that Ryan Moats he has up for auction. It's only at $20.50 now. If I can just get it under $50, I'll be a happy camper. LOL

  • People are actually bidding. I don't get it.
I guess it gives hope to some of those 3rd party graders.

Haha!!! The Moats only went for $46. That guy got a bargain.

I'm sure it doesn't seem strange that the winning bidder durgan5885 has a feedback of 2 (with one from this seller) and has won over 150 auctions from this guy in the past week. Nah, nothing strange about that.......

I agree that what this guy is doing is absolutely rediculous...though he is selling with plenty of bidders.
I have to say that I don't see that this is any kind of scam though. He is completely open about what these cards are...that HE has altered them and they did not come from the companies in this manner. Now, as discussed in another thread, advertising a PSA 8oc card as a PSA 9 and using trickery in his description I would agree that is a scam.
This guy is just destroying cards, making them "interesting" to some people out there, not lying about what the cards are, and is finding buyers for this junk.
I think its only a good laugh the way he describes them...but I dont see any ethical issue or scamming....and the stuff IS pure JUNK...and people are buying it.
Guess its true when they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
