Just what is so special about "refractors"?

Check the PSA pop reports on the '93 Refractors. Still pretty low relative to other 'rare' issues...

Just sold a Greg Swindell PSA 10 for $400 on the 'bay. Refractors are alive and well.

I wondered what this thread was about since I never heard of these cards but now that I saw a couple from the links posted here, I wish I hadn't. I understand that these were revolutionary and quite valuable, but do you really like they way they look???

I personally think they are very well-done. Of course, bright and shiny isn't liked by everyone.

It's not just the bright and shiny look, but the kaleidoscope effect which makes the 72 Topps look like 1960 Leafs.
