Columbian Commemoratives

Thought I'd post some really nice some Columbians. The Columbian was the first series of US commemoratives, corresponding to the US commemorative coins of the same era, the Isabella quarter and the Columbian half. Maybe if you guys get to see these, we'd have some more stamp interest out there!

Now there is some old stamps I would like to have. I do have a couple of them in the series but not any of the big money stamps.

See, there are some stamp people around here! Actually, the photos here aren't mine (shoulda clarified). I do have a set of Columbians (minus the $ and $5 values and not as nice as these) but I've been posting around here, trying to draw some stamp guys (or girls) out of the woodwork, and what better way than a choice set of Columbians on display?

I've owned sets like this IN MY DREAMS. That is the only way. I do have up to the 30c and a very poor 50c space filler. I am a stamp person. Predominately 19th century. Some postal history but mostly stamp varieties off cover.

Nope.

I am working on a set of Columbians, but it's very slow going. Other than the $4 and $5, my set is complete, but from the 50c up they're used and not very well centered. I'm not (quite) a freak about centering, but I do like 'em as cloxe to perfect as I can reasonably afford.

BTW~ The Columbians shown are from Armstrong and/or Posner. Just thought I'd give two of my favorites a free boost.

You just can't beat the columbian commoratives for the detailed art work. very beautiful stamps.
