Gotta take a 1-2 yr hiatus from Merc's - business opportunity needs my merc funds and attention (Ouch!) sooo some of you may move up a notch as I will likely remove my set one of these days.
Hopefully I will be able to start from scratch at a later date and perhaps shoot for even better examples
I have Mike Printz at Larry Whitlow's pondering how and what to do in regard to selling the set - I chose Mike for obvious reasons including honesty and integrity which are second to none.

It is sad to see you are selling your set.
You are probably doing the right thing,as coins are just a hobby ..right ??
Good luck in the future, and I look forward to adding some of your dimes to my set,

But...but.....who will I be able to harass and who will you be able to harass if you do this ?
Very sorry to hear this because of all of the work you have put into your set.
Ken
I hope all goes well for you. If you do sell come back soon I would like to keep long time Mercury dime collector's around.
I'm sure this isn't the last we've heard from you! Part of the joy of collecting is disposing! Good luck with your sale.
Yellowjacket at #7.
I've got my eye on some of your beauties, Marc
I've given a heads up to some of my fellow collectors and collectively (no pun intended), perhaps the folks here can make having you put your set together rewarding in more ways than 1
Ken LOL you crack me up - I'll still stick around for more
Pat I'll be back ...I know I will.. just needed some time out for now....
YJ, correct and I sure will
Mike, thanks I'll let you all know what happens - you very obviously are putting together a pretty nice set too
Marc
Good luck in your sale and in your business opportunity! I know you are very selective with your coins, so you should do good.

<< <i>Marc---Good luck in the business venture....as one of the first Merc guy's to welcome me to the boards, and the first to award me with that much misunderstood "you suck" you'll be missed!!! You have a very nice collection, and I would be honored to have the opportunity to act as the temporary "curator" for some of them (that's all we are, of course...the coins will outlast us all!). Please feel free to contact me with details if you do decide to sell your collection....

Tee Hee......that was a good one from Marc....
Ken
BOB you've come along way too since that infamous day ...will let all know what develops .
good ol Lucy always had a soft spot for the merc male folks!
Marc
Boy, I really haven't been on the boards much lately! I'm sorry to hear that you're selling. I thought you were a :lifer", but "ya gotta do what ya gotta do", and I hope your business venture is a success.
I'll be watching for your '21-P. My coin buying has been minimal over the past few months, so I'm due for a coin buying "fix". If you'll let us know when they're going to be offered, I'm sure some of your beauties will sell quickly.
We look forward to your return to the Merc arena. Don't be a stranger to the forum.
Jim
You WILL be back, someday. I know it. Those mercs have been good to you. Those ladies were a lot more honest than those folks at Enron!
I will hold my set of mercs intact for you when you return!
Best of luck! You will do well!
Best,
Oreville
Good luck in your new venture, whatever it is.
Warm regards!
Just Having Fun!
JIM I am a lifer you know that - just really needed to take a breather for greener pastures - coins or set building are great recreation 'n all but if you need to borrow $ and risk other problems at the expense of holding on to coins is not smart. Granted if $ is not an object then that train of thought would not count
And I do hope it is a succes perhaps I can go after all 66 and 67 examples one day just for kicks.
OREVILLE Those ladies were a lot more honest than those folks at Enron! LOL yes they have indeed and why that is no nice of you to offer to hold YOUR set for me
JHF thanks alot and warm regards back too. Of course I am still available to babysit your rarities at any time

I jsut saw this thread and put it together with the announcement on the Whitlow web site. I am sad to see a fellow Merc collector go. (And, yes, I consider myself a Merc collector even though paying for 3 kids' college education has caused me to take an extended recess from any coins.) Anyway, even though I can't buy any, one side of me really looks forward to seeing your coins on the Whitlow web site--any idea when they will be imaged? The other side of me will be, as I mentioned, saddened when the coins appear.
I also hope that your 2 year recess from Merc's does NOT mean a 2 year recess from these boards!
Mark
I have just about finished imaging Marcs Mercs, which really takes more time than one might imagine since each coin is imaged side by side and NOT scanned. I'm in the process of writing descriptions for each coin and I am hoping to have the coins posted either tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I can honestly say Marc had a great eye and really concentrated on originality for the most part and tried to buy really great coins for their respective grade. It's really been fun imaging and writing the descriptions of each and every coin...even those Marc decided he could not part with...
Anyway, please feel free to visit my site here to see Marcs Mercs once they are posted. He did a wonderful job and should be congratulated for a job well done! I personally think he's one of the nicest and finest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing outside or inside this great hobby.
Best wishes to all,
Mike Printz

I'm sure it won't be too long a recess and for sure not from the boards.........and I totally know the feeling with tuition monies involved
MIKE
Why thank you...that was not necessary however on the same breath all I will say is "it takes one to know one!"
The dimes actually look great - I had the urge to put a HOLD on a few more dimes tonite for myself shees.... Amazing how I don't believe any other venue would photograph the dimes the way you did and I can vouch first hand they look like the pictures
