I have absolutely no idea. Looks legit to me. I found a PSA 7 in an Oklahoma pawn shop last week for $400. I passed, because I had to make child support payments.
I think the seller is a liar. These guys who run pawn shops...they know the value of everything. No way a pawn shop owner wouldn't know the value of this card.
Lets see. I know nothing about sportscards, so I'll put PSA 10 in the title. Cant find the price of a 1952 Mickey Mantle? How does this guy know how much to give people when they bring in thier cards? Arent pawn shops usually run by the guys who will give you 100.00 for your 4 karat ring and than sell it for 5,000.00? Oh yea, this is definately legit.....
I talked with the buyer last night, and it looks like the seller never had the card. The seller got a quick neg - I wonder if we'll see anymore shenanigans?

In my experience, pawn shop employees and people who bring cards in to pawn shops are equally as clueless about the pulse of the hobby. Trust me - I've worked on and off at a pawn shop for a decade. I can't tell you how many times people came in with shoeboxes full of worthless cards, expecting to get a $500 loan. And they weren't trying to pull a fast one - they honestly had no clue as to current value. Pawn shop employees are equally airheaded. Countless times I've gotten calls from the owner asking how much he should loan on a horde of worthless 90's inserts. Every time, i have to explain the difference between book value and real world value. And every time, the concept goes right over his head.
The one bright side: armed with a Beckett and a box full of overpriced, overproduced junk, you might be able to get yourself a nice loan if you can convince the employees that they can resell everything for high book value. Clueless pawn shops might be the next untapped resource for dumping your unwanted crap.
<< <i>i CAN NOT FIND THE PRICE OF THIS CARD ANY WHERE. >>
Yeah, those oddball 52 Topps Mantles are hard to look up these days. They're so obscure, nobody knows what they're worth. Do the guides even list weird unknown stuff like that any more?
