1954 Topps PSA 10 Lasorda

Wow, Steve at the Baseball Card Exchange says that a 1954 Cello pack was just recently busted producing this card plus another PSA 10 and a couple 9's.

PSA 10 54 Lasorda LINK !

A bit rough cut and OC on the back but still BEAUTIFUL! Just eye candy for me ...

  • How come all the packs I bust comprise of a grossly miscut Don Mossi and the rest have more dings than my old Ford Pinto?
    Nice looking stuff........

What a gorgeous card on the front. The back is not quite as nice and theoretically PSA violated their own standards of a PSA 10 requiring a back centered better than 75/25... but the card is amazing. I'll be interested to see how much it sells for. My guess is somewhere in the vicinity of $5K, but who knows with these rarities.

Yes, what is up with that Lasorda, the back does not meet the 75/25 criteria? Though the front is quite nice. The rough edges do not bother me that much, just how they were made back then. Kind of gives them a little character.

Barely meets the 90/10 for a PSA 9 on the back it seems. The rough cut on the back would not bother me much in this issue. If it were one of my 1978 Topps it would be a different story.

What happened to the upper left corner of the card? It looks like some of the paper is missing on the edge.

people might complaint about rough cuts now..but its truly one of the only ways that you can tell for sure that your card its not trimmed.

  • I personally love rough cuts on 50's stuff. The back centering isn't that bad, and I think the "eye appeal" factor may have come into play. What a beautiful card! I think we should take a stab at guessing final bid and see who is closest. My guess in 9983.17. Obviously those who guess late will have an advantage. How about no official speculations after card reaches 24 hours left?

  • I'll guess $8650.26 with Spence as the winner.

I think either Dmitri Young or Tom Candiotti ends up with this one.

I also like rough cut pre-60s cards. Not only do you know they are not trimmed but its a sign of the times. Adds some character to the card!

    The card ended at $7,875
