He's nuts - if he goes back there. That team seems hopeless, and built around a supremely selfish player. He'd be better off staying retired, or at least taking on a program like Cleveland (where he has LeBron and some legit young talent).

His legacy will take a hit with this.

  • Now we get to see how good of a coach Phil really is. In the past, he has inhereted teams that were so close to winning championships.

    Remember these Chuck Norris Facts

    1. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down
    2. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, Chuck Norris can actually roundhouse kick you yesterday
    3. There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris

At $10 million a year, he won't give a crap about his legacy.

    <<< He's nuts >>>

Yea...nuts all the way to the bank. He'll get along fine with "Sir" Kobe.

Cleveland has just as many bums as the Lakers do. With the Lakers you get Kobe arguabley one of the best players in the league. You get Odom who has shown flashes of greatness where in cleveland you would get Gooden as your 2nd option. Odom is a close to the type of player that Pippen was. Lakers just need to get 2 good role players and they will contend again. Lakers are a 6th seed with Phil at the helms.

Two words come to mind..........Who cares?
  • Who cares? Guy has 9 rings, bet those teams he beat for those 9 rings care.

I think Phil's cursed one way or the other.

On one hand, he's always heard 'well for your 9 rings, you've had 2 of the best players of all time on both sets of teams', which, while true, great players don't guarantee championships.

On the other hand, when he comes back with perhaps the intention of proving he can win with just one very good player, he gets called out as 'money hungry' and people saying he's going to tarnish his legacy.

Seems he can't win either way.
