<< <i>I wonder how much of a card you can get away with trimming and PRO will still grade it? That would be a fun experiment.

Haha, I've wondered that too. I was going to send them a top border of a '52 card and say it's a Mantle - even they gotta draw the line somewhere. Or send them a 64 Standup with the player cut out...

A long time ago (5 or 6 years) I bought a PRO Gem 10 Drew Bledsoe 93 SP. I knew nothing about grading other than I wanted the card and I found a nice one I was going to cross over to PSA. I won the card for $68, got it...cracked the case, sent it to PSA and it came back...surprise surprise...Evid. Of Trim.
I was PO'd... got the card back from psa...took it out of the card saver and held it up to another card. To my amazement...disgust..disbelief and 100 other emotions, I could have fit 2 of the bledsoes on a real card. I had it tacked to my tack-board for a few years as a reminder not to buy pro graded cards... I've since thrown it away. If you "centered" the card on a real one, there would have been at least a 1/16" all the way around. My guess is that it would have measured around 2-3/8 x 3-3/8... that might even be generous. I don't know if they are still that bad, but I can say from experience I had a card that was the size of a 75 Topps Mini.
