NARU mistake??

Good evening all, I have a question I hope some of the more experienced Ebayers can help me with.

I bid on a presell auction for a decent deal on some 2005 FB rookies. I know presells are ripe for scamming (learned the hard way)
but the money involved was small so I figured what the heck. The seller gets NARU'ed before the 30 day Paypal period is up so I
jump at the chance to recover my cash before the rest of the herd follows suit. This seller has 5000+ positives and is 99.2% and has
a good 8 year Ebay track record. So when the Paypal resolution email is sent to him, this is what I get from him:

....eBay incorrectly NARU's accounts all the time and it usually takes a week or so to get the idiots to fix their problems. In our case they incorrectly associated my account with a former employee who hasn't worked for me in years and had his own accounts suspended....

Do these "accidents" happen with Ebay frequently enough for me to take this buyer's track record over whether Ebay is incorrect in
this situation? Any responses appreciated.......
Bob

Bob I have no idea, I do know that paypal is now 45 days not 30. I have seen reputable guys get naru and then are back online in a week. It was said that fees or certain info got them naru'd. does the seller have a slew of negs as of late? or does his word seem to follow what you see?

    hope I have helped.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • I now of a couple of reputable Ebay sellers with 5-10,000+ who have been NARUed a couple of times and my items were still sent out. They were reinstated a couple weeks after I received my items. It actually does happen. The problem is the scam artists never seem to be NARUed for good.......
  • Hi Steve, sorry about the atrocious way I wrote that post, now edited... This seller seemed to be steaming right along with
very postive auction activity then, out of the blue, he's NARU. The NARU action and his past and recent rep don't jive.
(thanks for the note about 45 days)

BBFan - thanks for adding to Steve's post, I did not know that the good guys were getting NARU'ed. Would that be SNAFURU'ed?
    Never mind...image

And yes, hindquarterhole scammers NEVER seem to get the permanent axe. Thanks for the comments so far!

eBay will suspend you for a variety of things. Being a scammer is one of them, of course, but a more mundane offense is forgetting to pay your eBay fees after a warning (or having an expired credit card on file with eBay when they try to take their pound of flesh). It's particularly annoying if you're running auctions when they pull the plug. It's easy to pay the bill, update your CC information, promise to be a good boy, and get reinstated. But it may take a week or two before it works slowly through the system and you can get into your account again.
