How often do dealers update the prices on their websites?

I noticed that one dealer's site that I check out quite often updates the prices somewhat regularly. There were two particular coins I was interested in, and they both changed prices (one went up and the other went down, actually). How regularly do dealers change the prices on their websites? Also, do the dealers have any way of tracking how many "clicks" they get on a certain coin and interpolate demand, and therefore adjust prices accordingly? Just curious.

  • They certainly can track the clicks on individual coins if they analyze their web logs.

They can also tell what IP address those clicks are coming from. If you've been ogling
a certain coin over and over, they could raise the price, anticipating a sale, or lower
the price to try and get you off the fence.

I'm guessing that most dealers don't have the resources and/or time to pay detailed
    attention to this stuff, though.

It doesn't make sense for a dealer to raise his prices. If he couldn't sell at the old price what makes him think he can sell it at the newer higher price? Maybe he is really running a museum.image
