To Crossover or Crack?

Attached is a card that I would like in PSA holder for my Favre collection. My question is would you crack it yourself or let PSA do it. Also, for set collectors what do you do with cards that are obtained from the card companies already graded? Would you crack them or just leave them in the BGS holder.

PSA is really reluctant to give anything a nice grade that's through their crossover service. Personally, I'd just keep it in the BGS holder, because a)it already has a premium grade and b)since a lot of the card's value is its signature, the grading company matters less than normal.

Leave it in the BGS holder. modern stuff is worth more with 9.5 and 10 sigs than even in a PSA 10 holder.

I would not crack that card. If it must go into a PSA holder send it in as is and live with the grade.

I would leave it in the BGS slab for cross over.

Thanks for the help. I think that I will leave this one in the BGS and see if I can get an ungraded one to submitt to PSA. I will try to keep the BGS one for future cash reserves.

You can crack it and it will almost certainly end up in a PSA 10 holder at some point-- but you may have to send it in half a dozen times.

BGS says it's a perf sig, PSA will only authenticate it and give the card a 10. Do not mess with success, leave it in the BGS holder and be glad you own it as a Favre fan
