Nedsk and the Jay Wolt lovefest

About 8 days ago I won a card from Nedsk on ebay that I had needed and hadn't seen for sometime. After I won it the posts started popping up here about him. I made arrangements for a friend (Jay Wolt of Quality Cards.com) to pick the card up.
To make a long story short Jay picked up the card today at Ned's place of business and all is well. He (Ned) did communicate somewhat regularly and seemed like a good guy on the phone. I can't vouch either way for the unopened packs, but if they are indeed good I would think they'd be a steal since they aren't going that high with all the negative publicity.
And not to sound like a broken record but a big thanks to Jay Wolt. A true class act, Jay is what makes this hobby fun. Many, many thanks!

Maybe Jay could weigh in and let us know if this guy is for real?
I hope everyone else's dealings with Nedsk go as well.

Some of his new listings use pictures from the last big unopened scam.
I'm still unsure about the larger quantities.
This IS paoutdoorsman2004 - no question in my mind. I remember before he was "an attorney selling off the coins and cards for an estate." Now he's in the "computer repair business." It is hoped this guy is legit and nobody gets taken, but I'm keeping my money in my pocket.
I call em as I see em - If I ain't right here then I ain't right.

<< <i>Picking up the card was smart, but I still ain't bidding. An old pyramid scam trick is to payoff some of the early people in the scam so that they gain confidence in the scam and tell others that the scammer is legit.

I don't know about the guy selling but Anthony aka Griffins and Jay Wolt - they don't come any better - and I'm talking first hand. Not that you are implying they would in any way aid in this thing - I just don't want anyone else to get the wrong idea.

I agree Mike.
I guess we're all trying to figure this guy out so that we don't make a bad decision.
Everyone here is certainly on the up and up.
Every new board member should buy some cards from him as an initiation.

Mike - Okay for you to mention this, but the thought of Griffins "aid in this thing" never crossed my mind in any way, shape or form. I was referring to, in the overall history of scams, innocent people who get paid off early in the scam, and then with good intentions they tell their friends about it, then their friends get suckered into the pyramid. An example is what happens with church groups and investment pyramid scams. A few churches get paid off in the beginning of the pyramid, they with good intentions tell other churches, then the scam winds up being successful. That's how pyramid scams work...the innocent people who are trustworthy, like a Griffins, are used by the scammer to suck in innocent people. Again - maybe and hopefully this is not the case but I'm just saying BEWARE!

Regardless of how busy one is, if I pay $1000 for some cards I purchase on e-bay and you don't respond (ever) that's simply slippin 101. Mickeys', BBCKid, BBCExchange, etc. they respond to general e-mails, and I know they respond to threads regarding items you've purchased from them. If he is a computer repair/techie character, he probably lives by a pda, cell phone w/ e-mail capabilities, and a computer that he most likely continually checks for e-mails from people he is buying from or planning on meeting to buy cards from.

Any thoughts on what options I have? At this point he is clearly refusing to refund my money. He's saying I'm just upset because I had to pay more for my box than others had to pay for the others he sold? Money's got nothing to do with this issue! Try integrity, honesty, and being ethical as a business person "nedsk"!
While my experience was fine, I was buying a graded card. Other than Steve Hart at BBCardexchange I can't think of anyone I'd trust buying raw packs from. Best of luck getting your money back.

I never hooked up w/ Ned, but a worker had the card ready for me in line of when they said.
I got to the store a little early and waited till the worker and the card appeared and at that
time we made the switch. I did talk to Ned on the phone to arrange the pickup, he seemed like
a decent guy.
Just another reason to buy graded cards & packs, it removes alot of the doubt...jay
