Jim Brown I expected was a 4, outside chance at a 5. I got it for under $100 so it's not terrible, plus I needed it for my set.

Joe Perry, I paid halfway between 6 and 7 money for, I don't know how it was a 5, that one will get resubmitted. I need it for my set as well. Guy argued with me that it was a 7, I told him it was a 6...we were both wrong, but I was "less wrong" image

Johnny Bench-Yep. a 6. That's what I figured. Decent centering and nice color. Has one "bad" corner or this had a good chance at a 7.

60 Mantle, I figured a 5, just wanted it slabbed (as is the case with the rest of the Mantles)

Rose-This one was rejected a couple weeks back as being Miscut and I got a cert for a free grading. Made it through this time, which doesn't surprise me. It wasn't miscut at all...

Killebrew-hmm. Guess I was one full grade low again. It has good corners, great color but a small "dent" in the top edge. Overpaid for this one raw too, I should've looked closer at it as I didn't see the dent til I got home under the halogen lamp. My fault more or less, but figured I'd give it a shot... a 4 is not good, but it's for my collection for a while, so until I get around to upgrading it, it'll stay this way.

The next 3 Mantles-Thought these were 5's across the board, though I'm not surprised on the 61 as it had just a touch of paper loss on the bottom left corner. Again, just wanted these slabbed so they couldn't get any worse.

52 Bowmans-Thought the Mitchell had an outside chance at a 7, the others I figured 5 or 6. All 3 had great color and were the "best of the bunch" in a small lot I looked at. I just liked the looks of them so I picked them up. Again, just had these slabbed...just because.

All in all, I was high on the grades of a few cards. I nailed a few. No real surprises other than the 4's. Disappointing but not heartbreaking as most of this was only graded for me anyway and not for resale.

I've got a T206 #25 Mitchel that's a 1 or a 2 probably, and 2 33 goudey's with great color but probably in the Ex 5 range being graded now. I only picked those up because I never owned them. I'm strange like that I guess.

i think that's the importance. my last submission was all for resale...so, although i nailed 95% of the grades, the one or two that didnt cost me much cash and heartache.

Yeah, I do too. I like seeing how close I can get. I usually nail 90%+ and the ones I'm wrong on are usually by one grade, and in most cases I'll have one card I graded higher and one lower so it balances out. image

I don't mind 5's so much because some can still have decent eye appeal, I really get disappointed with 4's though... oh well.
