Here we go again! I need your expert help!!

Bought a nice 1998 Bowman Chrome Golden Anniversary Refractor #5/5 off of Beckettonline. I paid 5/27 and haven't heard a word from him and every attempt to contact him has failed.

I did a little research and it appears that he had an ID on Bidville and recieved around 28 negative feedbacks. I'm just wandering why Beckett lets people like this sell on their site and what is my next move??? I paid by a Wellsfargo Debit checkcard.

  • NEVER EVER EVER use a check card in the future. ALWAYS use a credit card. With a major credit card company you have protection from them against fraud. With a debit card you have zippo. Actually a long paper trail of forms and crap from the bank, and it will take them 3 weeks to investigate anything. Plus, if someone "steals" your debit info, they can wipe out your CASH and your screwed. Only use credit cards for purchases and descipline yourself not to overspend. you will thank me for it one day.

It really hasn't been that long. maybe 10 days? I would hold out for another 10 days and see if you get it. If you can't get ahold of them, then you very well may be screwed. Give him more time though, and make sure the amount deducted is correct.

    good luck,

beckett.com people don't ship very fast, so maybe it's still in the mail. Sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks for those some dealers. A lot of those dealers are just people selling out of their garages.

I agree that using your debit card is bad idea. I only use that at the bank or ATM, otherwise it's cash or credit cards.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

I agree that waiting a while longer is a good idea. Is filing a claim through the Better Business Bureau an option or not?

I've looked into it and I deeply regret using a Debit Card although it says it is backed by Visa. It says that I may file a claim only if the merchant is within 100 miles of my home. I'm in MN, he's in NY so I might be using this as a learning experience.

    Thanks for all your help
