saving an old coin for a young man

I am giving a coin I recently purchased from a fellow board member to my son. I want him to be able to look at it 50 years from now and smile and think of me. What should I put this in for long term storage? Any suggestions?
It is a simple coin, but it has become a tradition for me to buy a coin with a date from the latest play he is in (in this case 1628). I am secretly trying to turn him on to collecting as well.
Thanks!

<< <i>I would have it slabbed by PCGS / NGC and that should preserve it best. He can always crack it out in 49 years and it should stay well. >>
I would agree ... preservation is what you're looking for with this coin, but, does PCGS or NGC slab "hammered" coins

Cool idea for a gift BTW!

<< <i>I would go with an airtight too; a slab will just make the coin look ugly. >>
Airtight all the way... or so spaketh the anti-slabbing party of this forum, i.e moi.
He really enjoys getting this kind of gift. His last play was 42nd street to I got him a mecury dime of the appropriate date. He was laughing at me when he found out what play he was in this year. Fortunately there are some amazingly helpful people here that helped me out (IE Civitas).
