To break or not -- 2003 Topps Series 1 baseball

Would a box (8 packs) of 2003 Topps Series 1 bb cards be any fun to open? If so, what key cards should I be looking for? I found this in a big box with some complete factory sets I had stashed away and thought I could have some fun opening it. I'm not familiar with the post 1991 stuff -- I just buy and open a pack here and there and put unopened stuff away that looks like a bargain and hope for the best down the road.

Thanks,

hh

It's probably worth less than what you paid retail for it. There is nothing in series I worth getting excited over.
Perhaps, if you opened it and found an auto card? Otherwise the inserts and base cards aren't anything to get excited over.

Thanks, Mike. My wife probably bought this at Target when my son worked there. I'm going to go ahead and open it and see if there's an autograph.

  • Noooo! Don't open them! I think if you hold on to them another five years, they could be worth close to $5,000.

Geez CollectorChris why the sarcastic remark? Or is there something about 2003 Topps that is going to make it worth what you say it will be?
