The sceptic in me was pretty sure that a stinking piece of glass couldn't be how you guys have been getting those great shots!
This is an upgrade that I got yesterday at the Long Beach show.

Milan mint. Adjustment marks on reverse and slight doubling of the 4 in the date. Oh, and a boo-boo on the NapMan's eye, not enough to stop the fight though...

Good job Vern...BTW, It only works if you've got toning. I've been fighting for the past several hours trying to get some decent shots and it just ain't working. Glad it finally worked for you!!

So what's the solution if there's no toning? A different lighting technique or use a scanner?

I'm still using the glass because it helps backlight shadow areas but after that it's just a matter of manipulating the image in image editing software to get it as close to reality as possible.
