Yes because ALL of NY needs the yankees to win in order to survive. Man this guy has an ego that needs to be checked.

    Fixed Link

And now here comes spam boy to say how important the yankees REALLY are to NY's well-being...

Tell George to relax METS might be in first by the end of tonite or tomorow, so they will pick new york right back up!!

Things like that are why there is so much anti-Yankee sentiment out there. The Yankees should never be expected to lose? Every loss is a catastrophic disappointment? Every team has to go through winning cycles and losing cycles. It's one thing to try and fix what is wrong with your team, but it is another to whine about it like a spoiled little child.

If your team had an owner who was able to bring you one lousy championship you would be doing cart wheels in the cheap seat section of Safeco Field. image

Hmm it seems George hasn't been able to buy a championship in how many years?

And I think the owners of Nintendo have more money than even queen george spamboy. It's not fiscally responsible to blow $200 million on a team because your ego overruns business sense.

Another point - the Giants are the oldest team in baseball. Guess who's second (and only by a fraction)? Yep - your $200+ million dollar Yanks.

So, not only will they struggle today - but tommorrow looks bleak as well.

    But, not for me. image

You are too funny. The Yankees are worth $1 Billion. Throw in George's YES Network and the Yankees licensing and he probably doesn't even know what to do with all of his money. And now I see that the Mets are copying George and coming out with their own network. Was NESN first or did they copy Steinbrenner too? The Yankees have been drawing close to 4 Million the last few years. Sure Steinbrenner has wasted a ton of money but most of his investment has paid off in spades for him.

Like I said if the Mariners ever won one lousy championship you would be doing those cart wheels in the cheapo seats.

So now that's your "joke" is 'doing cart wheels in the cheapo seats'?

It must be a sad life you lead, Spammy....living so vicariously through the spankees when they win, hiding under the bed when they lose.

How many times must I tell you that I don't like a team just based on their chances to win a championship...and the fact that Seattle never has doesn't take away from my enjoyment of it. If they win, great! If not, there's always tomorrow. You, however, seem to pin your entire mood on whether or not the spankees won today.

I don't care how many championships they've bought (err, I mean won). They've also been around how many years?

Grow up spammy. Your fairweathered act is growing weary and tiresome on everyone. You are the WORST kind of fan. Say what you will, but you only like the yankees when they win, and you only lay claim to them when they win. You will sit here and scream that you've been a fan since they sucked, but the fact you post here 10000 times more often when they win than when they lose speaks VOLUMES about what you really feel.

You are the proverbial joke. How many times have you said you are not going to respond to my posts? A little violin music, please. Lawrence Welk bring it on. A 1 and a 2 and a 3....... image

Man, are you way off. NESN was launched way back in 1984. YES has been around since 2002.

OK, but the Mets owners know a good thing when they see it.

If things keep going the way they are, the Mets network will be the place to watch winning baseball in New York. The launch of this network was behind the signings of Beltran and Pedro - and, I wouldn't be surprised to see them attract a few more big names very soon.

Yes, take a page out of the Steinbrenner play book.
