Romanian 2 Lei arrived! True grade range revealed

Hi all,

The coin FINALLY arrived today! First off I can tell you after examining it in hand that it is a well circulated piece and I was wrong in my previous grade assumption. From what I've seen on the coin today I'd be inclined to say high end VF as a grade. Plenty of wear evident in several places. I've put in my own photos of the coin that I just took, along with a couple close ups showing the wear on her hands. So final result is the coin wasn't the hidden UNC that I was hoping for but she still is one heck of a beautiful design and one not easily come by even in these grades. The coin will do my set proud until I can find an appropriate upgrade to it image

Nice coin and a beautiful design!

I think your picture is a bit tougher on the coin than the sellers pictures. His lighting allowed you to see more detail in the hair and beard as well as in the bottom of the dress and her feet. Trying to grade the coin from your picture I would grade it no better than Fine. Points out the problem with trying to grade from a picture.

I think ajaan and I were correct in our original grade of VF. image

I doubt that it is the same coin... excuse my bluntness.

Looks like she's hooking up a bottle of IV solution. But I would worry if the nurse had a sickle like that stuck in her belt.

    Nice looking coin.

I thought as much at first glance too, but if you check the old photo, the toning matches exactly. The seller just pumped up the contrast and sharpness to give it a differnt look.
