I'm seriously thinking about buying an 86 Topps FB cut case and am curious as to other board memebers' experiences opending bulk cases. I'm intered in the condition that I should expect (Simiar to a vending box or are there a lot of miscuts/rejects?)

Partial sample ...
They are the end of the production run (sheet printing) and the cards are cut and placed into storage cartons.
Good pics Sixdart!
Cut card cases are also known as “bulk vendor cases” I believe. They contain approximately 8600 cards – I only have one case and when I opened it, I want to say that there was three rows on each “tier” – total of 3 tiers. There’s no protection – cards are stacked in the box – can see a lot of dinged or crumpled cards. Some have said that they can yield, with luck, more pristine cards since they don’t tend to get shipped around as much as vendor cases.
Here’s where I’m going on memory from a friend on the boards – cases can be only one series or multiple mixed...i.e. if the sheets are designated A, B, C etc. then a case can have one or more sheets in it. Thus, anything is possible I guess - one can have any combination of cases with one or more sheets in the case.
So you can get really lucky or have a real bad day.
Note that this is distinguished from a standard vendor case by Topps with 12000 cards. Fleer does things differently.
