Shaq offers to pay for Mikan's Funeral

O'Neal Offers to Pay for Mikan's Funeral

This is why I love this guy and I'm rooting for him this year to win it all.

Remember these Chuck Norris Facts

1. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down
2. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, Chuck Norris can actually roundhouse kick you yesterday
3. There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris

Is it just me, or has this guy changed, for the better, since leaving the Lakers....????

Very nice gesture on the part of Shaq.

He's always had a pretty big heart.. Every Christmas he dresses up in a Santa outfit 'Shaq-A-Claus' and does something nice.. One year he rolled around in the poor area's of LA on a flatbed truck covered in gifts giving them out to kids.. When he was in town to play against his former team around Christmas he pulled up to the Challengers Boys & Girls Club in South Los Angeles in a truck filled with bicycles, Sony Playstations, karaoke machines, sneakers and other gifts.

    He's always giving.. Good guy.

A great example of a man who makes it big and refuses to act like it.

He was raised well and it shows.

    Kobe Bryant can bite me.

Shaq is great, and it's a nice story. It's pitiful that more players didn't step forward now or before now. It's sad that more of these men who have more money than God can't take better care of their own.

Thanks everyone, for bringing this to my attention.

I was unaware of the nicer things he has done.

I'm glad for boards like this, so we don't have to feed-off negative media hype all the time!

Shaq has done alot of nice things during his career

I wonder why his % is so low from the " charity " stripe then ?

The Lakers are nothing without Shaq. With Shaq on the Lakers they could have replaced Kobe with Mini Me and still won a championship.

Are you implying that Shaq would've won those Championships in L.A without Kobe ?

I understand most people do not like Kobe but if you believe that you don't know basketball my friend

P.S how the Yanks making out tonight ?

You are absolutely right. How many championships did Shaq win in Orlando again? To say Shaq would have won those championships in LA without Kobe is simply ignorant.

I guess you don't know who Mini Me is. image Anyway, since Mini Me has not tried out for an NBA team, just put an unknown rookie guard in Kobe's place during Shaq's time in LA and he would have at least 1 championship. If Shaq had stayed with Orlando he would have most definitely bought the Mickey Mouse crowd a championship.

I highly doubt without Kobe the Lakers would even had made it to the Finals let alone win them

The Kings and Spurs would definetly had beaten the Lakers those years
  • Shaq delivered where others wouldnt with regards to the funeral, in fact, the lakers should have picked up the expenses..What the NBA has done to the previous players with regards to pensions, and retirement pay is disgusting..most of the players who paved the way for the salaries players recieve today are barley making it and the medical expenses they incurr is unreal due to the years they put in on the court. Both the players union and NBA front office need to put more of the billions they make into a kitty to take care of them..I mean, so the player today doesnt buy that 6th car...and an older player instead gets some medicine. Whats wrong with this picture.

That's class for Shaq to do that. To be honest, I thought he passed away a while ago. Most big men don't live to be 80. image
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

Shaq is a GREAT human being first as well as being one of the all time BB greats. Put a healthy Shaq on any team with average players and that team will be in championship contention.

Shaq + Wade and avg. players = championship contenders

Shaq + no Wade with avg. players = you saw what happened last night
