Another set completed. I'm on a roll!

Just finished my first non-sports set. 1956 Topps U.S. Presdents. I collected the 1972 set when I was a kid and when I heard there was a 56 set, I had to put it together. I normally want my 50's sets graded at least PSA 7, but I had bought I nice complete set that I felt was worthy of grading. I did get a few 8's, but too many 6's and 5's. I will definitely be looking to upgrade this set. I would suggest to any sporst collector to try and pursue at least 1 non-sporst set. There are so many covering a myriad of topics that I'm sure any collector can find one of interest. For me it keeps card collecting fresh and fun. You can check out my set under "Fabfranks 1956 U.S. Presidents set"
If anyone has any upgrades, Please email or PM me.

Oh, thanks! Just what I need -- the inspiration to complete my 1967(?) Mod Squad set!

Congrats on the POTUS set! I don't believe I've ever seen a card from either of your sets...

Classic case of collecting the holder, and not the card.

"Classic case of collecting the holder, and not the card."

Well, that seems like an unnecessarily snide comment. Additionally, anyone should be bummed about getting 6's and 5's back, since these cards don't have much resale value.

To keep me sane, I also sell and collect the original Wacky packages.

  • Fabfrank,

If you now can only get that 1971 Topps #697 Rickey Clark in PSA 7 to better that you need, you would really be on a roll image I am sure it won't be long before you join us at the 100% level for the 1971 Topps set as well. Anyways, congrats on completing another set! I am keeping my eyes out for the Clark card for you and will let you know if I find one that is available.

  • Thanks guys for the positve comments.

Mike, you've helped in the past, so I'm sure if you see that R. Clark card you'll send up a flareimage

Skinsfan- Yes Art. With a little help from my friends I will get close to completing the 67 Philly setimage

Actually this is a classic case of a newbie poster with nothing postive to add. That's what these are boards are about. Learning about cards, grading, collecting and maybe some manners.image
