Who is SCD (Sports Cards Direct)??

I was doing a search for SCD 10s (Sports Collector's Digest) and ran across a bunch
of SCD 10 from Sports Cards Direct. Is this the same company that is revamped? Everything looks the same except for the name. Anyone know?

Looks like the same logo as the prior SCD holders. Wonder if they think the change, if it is them, will help?

  • I saw the same listing and thought it was a ripoff from someone trying to use SCD as a name. I thought they got rid of their card grading division? (especially since nobody actually cared if their cards had the "untouched" label on them)
  • SCD (Sports Collectors Digest) does not grade cards anymore. That looks like Trademark infringement to me. image

I sent them an email and they actually replied.....

    My Email to them :
Is this formally Sports Collector's Digest Authentic?
Your flips, holders, and black insert looks exactly like the
SCD that I thought went out of business. Never heard of
Sports Cards Direct. Let me know. Thank you.

    Their response:

Hello, we are a new company, we bought them out, and have started over
    Hope that helps
    thanks

The website says new investors, but never indicates who or what was
bought out. Don't know if it's true or not.

If the new guys are legit, they've got some work to do. That Sandberg is in no way a 10, and the top left edge looks a little funny to me.

Looks to me like a hijacked corporate identity. If you peruse their website carefully, you'll notice they can't seem to decide what name they go by (note singular vs. plural "card(s)":
