I have know seen it all. This guy expects idiots to send him 100.00 or better yet 250.00 for a "change" at a 53 Mantle. Bid as often as you like. lol

This guy has a criminal mind.

My email to him via ebay:

Hello if buy it now is used, do you win the entire 100 card lot which includes the Mantle? or do you win 1 card and it could be a 2005 common? if so you have the perfect crime. thanks in advance for your reply.
    Good for you.
  • LMAO, have you seen his other auction? Link
This is something that Peter Griffin would buy!

There could be anything in the mystery box! There could even be a boat!
  • WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
    His reply to my email:

You will win the set of 100 cards. You may get the card. You are taking a chance.

    I may?
    Good for you.

Come on Lois, you're acting like taking the mystery box is the stupidest thing I've ever done. Remember when we could've had that boat?

Just the greatest idiot next to Homer Simpson.
You can find him on The Family Guy on the Fox network on Sunday nights at 9PM.
They brought it back from the dead (was cancelled) due to the popularity it
got from The Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" hours and DVD sales. The
show's an absolute riot.....all new episodes.

This seller needs a good beating!

A 1953 Mantle in a PSA holder is kinda hard to slip into a stack of 100 cards.

So where's the scan of the graded Mantle?
  • mystery envelope? Now i have seen it all.
  • I emailed the guy and told him that I can't wait for his mystery envelope auction to end and that I hope I am high bidder. I told him that my payment would also be a mystery. Would it ever arrive, if it did, would there be money in it and how much would be in the envelope? I told him this would be fun with the all the suspense on both sides.

are these inside jokes amongst people on ebay?? I hope so or some idiot just got ripped for over two bills.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
  • you are bidding on a set of 100 cards from 1950 to 2005. You have a chance to get this 1953 Mickey Mantle card in the set. There is no garantee you will get the card. This is for a chance to get it.Any question please mail. Thanks for looking.

Yet someone actually did the buy it now. i guess he didn't win because the item was listed again...

  • This is really funny ... the "scan" of the Mantle that was just added to this auction was stolen from another auction ...

    Mantle by Jeannie

which is the subject of another thread here. Too rich!

    Hey Brian,

I hope you're referring to the buyer.

I'm thinking of bidding on the mystery bandage box. After all, it has

"tons of money in it among with some very other special surprises!! Inside behind each bandage you will find a mystery surprise!!"

    and

"those are real Ben Franklin $100 dollar bills and there is more than what meets the eye!!!!!"

    not to mention

"There is also a real mystery that is revealed!! This mystery is priceless!! Of course that will go to the winning bidder!!!"

the seller is quite up front about this

"what you are bidding on, is only the BANDAGE BOX and nothing else. The contents inside are merely free gifts to the winning bidder."

    and assures us that

"There is nothing inappropriate or dirty or illegal about this auction!! Everything is in accordance with e-bay policy!! Just good clean fun!"

I just got a reply back from ebay on this one. It only took them 16 days to reply.

I showed them the original auction (Jeannie) with pic and his auctions using the same pic. Ebay stated they could only respond to the original owner of the picture and I should contact them. Then to have them contact ebay directly.

They did say they would refer this to another department to look at the "lottery" aspect of winning the Mantle.

Well, I'm sure I accomplished nothing, but I tried.

Screw ebay, all we can do is watch out so we do not become victims.

See a scam auction? pass on it. Why bother wasting your time?
    Good for you.

Well, I was going to volunteer to personally go see Jeannie about this matter.
