Negative Feedback - What Can Be Done?

I had my worst selling experience with a bidder who failed to pay, even after numerous promises from him to do so. I filed a non-paying bidder to ebay, and got my listing fees back, at which point I left him a negative simply stating that he never paid for the item, even after numerous attempts to do so.

I check today, and sure enough, he's hit me with a negative with this feedback: "i never paid this guy...my bad..." I have sent ebay a letter, but is there any chance this mark gets removed? It's absolute garbage this slime can do this and hurt my feedback score I've worked so hard to keep up.

Anyone else ever had luck getting a negative mark reversed?

  • You can get that removed easy, contact Ebay and tell them he even admitted not paying, and ask ebay to remove it,

    Usually they do.

About the only way is to go through Squaretrade where each of you agree to have it removed. It will cost you 20 bucks though....

Ax, you did the right thing. So many others won't for fear of getting a retalitory neg. Any right minded bidder can read that and see what happened and where the fault lies. It doesn't hurt you at all. Keep up the good work!

baseballfanatic is right. It cost some $ to get it removed. If it means that much to you then do it. I just stinks that you did nothing wrong and now you have to pay for something that you really should'nt have to.

I wish Ebay would change it so that if a buyer loses a non paying bidder claim then there feedback for that transaction should be disabled.

I have been saying the same thing for a long time - why should you get to leave feedback if you are a non-paying bidder anyway?

I think you may be able to get that neg removed.
Just file a complaint under "problem with ebay buyer" under the "help"
and tell them what happened. It's obvious the guy is admitting for not paying
and is deliberately screwing with you. Forget Squaretrade. If you go thru them,
Squartrade has to also send the idiot an email and ask for his cooperation to getting
it removed. In this case, I seriously doubt the guy with cooperate.

Sucks getting a neg, especially your first one and it's usually some tool who does
it on purpose. I've passed that stage and now I neg all NPB bidders. I don't care
about retalitory negs. It doesn't bother me anymore. Good luck.
