sorry for the dumb question is this a 1864-L?

    From my limited IHC knowledge, I believe the L would be on one of the head dress bands, and in a condition that worn, I think it would be impossible to know. However, it could be like the Accented Hair Kennedy where there are several diagnostics. I dont really know but thats my input.

    I'd grade that coin as about a G-6.

    To gain the designation, the L must be clearly visible (even if the grade is AG3). Is it clearly visible? I can't tell (or see it) from the picture...

    Yes, it is. Bronze 1864 cents with a pointed bust are the 1864-L. The premium is less if the L isn't visible, but there is still some extra cost to any of the L cents.

    Most dealers would buy it as an "L" just because of the pointed bust.
