Pretty Cwappy

The Yankees can't even beat a team who has only won 13 games.

  • Something was pretty fishy about that game - on paper the yankees shoulda been a huge favorite, yet they weren't.

Brian, Greinke is supposed to be the Royal's young pitching phenom. He was 0-6 so maybe with new manager Buddy Bell and Greinke pitching the odds makers thought that Greinke and KC were due.

C'mon you can't have cake and eat it too when they play each other image

I agree about Greinke, it's still funny though how teams respond when their coaches/mgmt are in the spotlight - Pistons tonight too.

    Not doing so hot?

We are simply tired from doing all that running around the bases this weekend in the Bronx...

Oh, by the way - we won tonight, beating the first place Orioles behind great pitching by Wade Miller.

The Yankees can't even beat a team who has only won 13 games.

And a team that has $171,425,817 less in payroll..

    1 New York Yankees $208,306,817
    29 Kansas City Royals $36,881,000

    HA!

I was at the game ---- best game they've played all year!

I had a nice conversation with a few Yankee fans about salary issues.......I was surprised, but they were in agreement that baseball, for the future of the game, needs a salary cap and a floor.

Pretty decent guys, a bit surprising to meimage

I think baseball needs a salary cap too. I would rather have the Yankees develop young talent through their farm system rather than giving away their prospective future stars, but hell it's not my money. A combination of seasoned veterans and young players would be the best. That ignoramus Axtell Rose said that the Yankees don't have any talent in their farm system, but Wang and Cano are doing pretty darn good.
  • Kansas City showed some muscles again. image
Wise men learn more from fools than fools learn from the wise.

  • Gemmy, Wang and Cano will be talked about next year the way we talk about Brien Taylor and Kevin Maas today! If that's the best young talent the Yankees have your precious team is in serious, serious trouble.

I liked the big unit until he got greedy and went to New York, I am loving seeing him now suck and take George's money like all the
other over-paid "talent" on that team. When you pay a guy millions, and that money is guarenteed, why does he need to bust
    his balls?

Thus far you are correct. During an interview Johnson said that his job is to "keep his team in the game." What the heck, is he not getting paid to WIN games? Hey, its not my money. If I was Steinbrenner I would be p issed as hell. So far he has performed as the Little Unit or Mini Me.

28 mil for both Kevin Brown and Randy Johnson...how many combined losses do they both have?
