Finally!!! Pics of my collection are complete! Need opinions on site -

So I finally got around to it over the long weekend -- I finish the pics to my entire collection -- proofs, toners, mint state, everything!

I'd like a little feedback as to not only the pics, but the layout and the site itself. I decided to host it with a picture site (Pbase) instead of doing my own complete website. I can add some text, but not as much as having my own site. I figured it was easier to upload and maintain and I think the black background looks nice, but I'd like to hear others thoughts as well.

Please, take a look and tell me what you think.

Thanks,

You want feedback?? You know, feedback is very precious on this forum, more so than coins!! image

Anyway, excellent site, and terrific pictures!! Once I learn html, I hope to do something comparable some day!!

Is there any significance to the dates on the proof sets (i.e. relative birth years, etc.)?

It is very nice image I like the way you set it up where you click on one type of coin and it takes you to several examples of that kind of coin. Much more fun to navigate than a written list of links you usually encounter.

All kidding aside, you've really got some neat coins there!

The site is well-designed, and it loads unbelievably fast (I'm on AOL and dialup image so I was amazed) ... and that proof US Type Set is phenomenal image

Dont you own all of them?

Thanks -- all for those that are interested the site is a basic webhosting gallery site, but I think it looks remarkable nice for coin images. It almost appears to be your own website kinda of setup. Its called Pbase and it can be found at here.

Its really easy to use and set up and I highly recommend paying for the upgrade. It loads fast and they make it easy to upload.

great site.... thats what I need to do.

Awesome pics. Once I finish my Memorial Set, I might post my pics up on a site like that. I'll have to check into that pbase deal.

Only suggestion I would have is that maybe you should crop the pics in a circle (if your photo software has that capability). I use "Picture It" and it allows me to crop using a square or a circle. That way you don't have any "slab" showing. Just a suggestion.

    I REALLY like that website.

    AWESOME COINS BY THE WAY....

    Great site and nice pics,

I enjoyed the proof type coins.

About the layout..........I would like to see the spaces between the pics made smaller,

that's a lot of distance for my eyes to cover to get to the next coin image

Your toned peace dollar set is absolutely stunning! I've never seen such colorful examples before.
  • Very nice, and Pbase is a great site as well.
  • Very cool site, Great work

I thought about this and figured that keeping the slab around the coin shows that the pics havent been played with. There are so many photographers that can make a coin look great with photoshop and then cut it out so you dont have a frame of reference as to how the pic has been played with. I just thought it better to leave the slabs there. And its less work!

Me too, I just have to figure out how to do it, thats all!

Nice coins and nice pictures. I love that 1879 proof dime. Did it come from the Richmond collection that was auctioned in Baltimore this year?

I just checked. Your 1879 proof dime is much nicer than the one in that auction.
