x² + 8x + 15

x² + 2x - 3

x² + 5x + 8

x² + 14x + 33

x² + 11x + 28

(x+3)(x+5)

(x+3)(x-1)

Don't know if this will go into two brackets. Completing the square it's (x+2.5)² +1.75

(x+11)(x+3)

(x+4)(x+7)

Not really, just ajaan threads about math.

For ajaan only: name these famous equations/theorems:

c² = a² + b² - 2 a b ( cosC )

f( x ) = f( 0 ) + xf '( 0 ) + ½ x² f "( 0 ) + 1/6 x³ f "'( 0 ) + ...

If A = MPM¯¹ then A² = M P² M¯¹, A³ = M P³ M¯¹, etc

z² y" + z y' + ( z² - n² ) y = 0, assume y = f(z) and n is a constant.

(Edited to make them a little more readable and for clarification)

I beg to differ. Three terms = trinomial, to be more specific they are quadratic trinomials.

ajaan has nailed #2! It is both a Taylor and a MacLaurin series. The latter is a specific case of the former.
