Need help! Togo coin set

ajaanajaan Posts: 17,125 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm going to be buying a group of South African Proof sets and the guy selling these has an Essais Set from Togo dated 1952 and has 3 coins. It comes in a 'British paper box' his words not mine. Krause doesn't list this set. Anyone have any info?

Sounds strange ... Since Togo was a French colony at that time, why would it be in a "British" box ???

I can find no information on the set, either image

What's the price on the Essais? They're pretty strong sellers on e-bay.

I found out it is a 1956 set. Anyone know the non-Krause value for these coins?

I can't help with a valuation with this but have always loved these designs.

I saw one for sale at CICF about thirty years ago for a price reflective of Krause.

The 3 pieces are listed in the Essais section under Togo at $95 ('03 ed.).

The seller wanted $100 for the set, I counter offered $75. He said $80. I said no.
