1975 Topps George Brett PSA 9

Just listed a sweet Brett rookie on ebay which I recently got back from PSA. Hate to part with it, but I have other sets which I wish to concentrate on and can use the proceeds to get closer to the finish line.
My seller id is dave300800. If you have any questions, or would like some scans just pm me.

Thanks

102 have been graded PSA Mint 9 with only 4 10's. There have been 3,235 total submitted.

  • Deserving of the grade, but I'm afraid that small fish-eye on the bottom right border near the corner would keep me from bidding on it.

Again, very nice card... did you pull it and submit it to PSA yourself...?

I picked this card up at a local card show. As soon as I saw it in the dealers case I knew I had stumbled across a nice raw find. I tried to not show any excitement and told the dealer that I was going to look around some more and needed to think about it. Every once in awhile you can still find truly mint cards around, but it is getting harder and harder as I spend numerous hours a week searching.

Did the dealer give you a problem when you eyeballed the hell out of the corners and surface? Which I am sure you did. I get alot of funny looks when I inspect a raw card UP CLOSE. So many dealers / collectors are still so cluless about graded cards. They feel there is no need to cover every square milimeter of a seemingly nice raw card ....

He dealt strictly in raw cards and had no interest in the grading process. I tend to look for dealers who only have raw cards on their tables. If a dealer has both, then I'm skeptical as to why the raw cards haven't been graded.... especially if it is big name players. The world of graded cards has brought both positives and negatives along with it.

Is everyone waiting to snipe at the end or is there something wrong with the card that I just don't see. Alot of people tracking the item but no action yet.

As I replied in your other thread, the min. bid may be too high at only $61 less than SMR.
  • Have no fear..There is no way It will not sell ...relax...the snipes are set...a PSA 9 Brett RC always goes for above smr and yours will also its your high starting bid thats stopping the bidders from bidding it up...(I think you said that JR...)

Yount,Carter,Eck,Murray,Molitor and Ozzie?Thats 10 cards for a seperate catagory? I really didn't even know it existed untill now!

You wouldn't grade those cards if they had a shot at 8 or better?

I still think it will sell and receive at least 2 bids.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

There is another Brett PSA 9 with an auction ending within minutes of yours. The current bid is way under your minimum, so that will certainly impact whether you get bids or not.

some guy bite on the $500 price, but the other auction is still below $350.

In fairness, Dave's card is much better centered.

yeah Dave's card is much better looking, but they still both got a PSA 9. Funny how that works.

I can't believe this person would have their Brett end excatly four minutes before mine. At the time I listed my item there were no other Brett 9's listed. I made sure of that as I knew that would hurt my auction. I also don't understand how the card in his scan received a 9. The centering left to right appears way off to me. Oh well, it appears some people are willing to pay for a high end example versus the holder.
