1892-CC Morgan with double clash

Sorry. No pictures. I had quite a suprise today. I stopped at an antique mall that has a smalll case of coins. Have been there many times before. They usually have between 5 and 10 Morgans. This time I see a box of about 80 loose Peace and Morgans for $10 each. Also had another box with about 20 Morgans in 2x2 cardboard flips. Funny thing... most of the ones in 2x2's were CC mints. Those that weren't CC's, were harder dates.... 93-P, 93-O, 93-S, 94-P, 94-S. I've never touched these dates before, so it was pretty cool for me. They were all circulated, some looked cleaned, priced a little high. It was fun anyways. I only bought 6 of the raw Morgans for $10/each... mostly 1921-P's and D's.

My question... there was a 1892-CC with a strong double clash. Most visible on reverse near right wreath. The lower part of the 2 in the date was filled, making me think it was a common VAM 1. Marked XF, looked more like F. Couldn't find any reference to a double clashed die pair. Is the double clashing anything special on this coin?

Had to read it twice......... I thought you wrote that the raw ones were $10 apiece, and you passed on the 93-S & 94 P's and bought the 21 Morgans !!!!!! image

VAM 1A is double clash. The description says it has a double n next to Liberty's neck and is a R5.

    Thanks Becky.

I think he had $1500 on the 93-S. It was clean and shiney. I might go back when I have more time. One of the scarey things... the cardboard holders were all stapled, not flush or squeezed with pliers, and rubbing against each other. Felt a little strange going through a pile of CC's in a lose box with the staples sticking out and hitting the other coins.
