But no, I don't think it's improving. If nothing else, circulated coins scan better than MS since they don't have lustre to grab. IMO, their photography still sucks...

At least with their large images you have some chance of seeing what the coin looks like, especially strike, mark, dings, and wear.

They do Ok with light colored coins. It's dark copper and silver that they have big probs with.

Haven't they hired a board member as new imaging specialist? I think it is Darkhorse, or something like that. That person's images are great. Hopefully, things will be changing soon.

Maybe they are. They called me a few weeks ago trying to drum up consignments. I told them that until their imaging improved, especially with toned coins, I wouldn't be consigning anything.

Some people think you have to show the entire slab. I never show the slab, it's a waste of bandwidth.

I thought that RYK investing in equities rather than Southern gold was a sign of the end of the world. Now that Heritage is taking quasi-realistic pictures, I am sure the end is near.
