This rates way up there on the coolness scale!!
I went up to an old dealer in Racine WI to pick up the new Krause today (I did). As is was snooping around I spy something on the back shelf. I go and get it and I'm thinking to myself
<< <i>This is way cool! >>
. I ask about it and there is actually a story about it. In the 30s Whitman made coin boards. Well the plant that made them was in Racine. Someone at Whitman came up with the idea to put the coin boards in book format. This was a prototype made in 1936. This is one of the 1st Whitman folders. So here it is! and I think it is WAY COOL!!!

It's missing the page for Weenie Coins.
I grew up in Racine. When I was a kid, I remember occasionally getting Whitman coin folders or Golden Books as Halloween treats instead of candy. That was way cool too - one of the reasons I started collecting.
