Carl Pavano=next Cy Young?

Wow, this young buck sure can pitch! I think if I was a GM I'd make sure to sign him to a ridiculous contract based on his 1 good year last year and hope that he holds my picthing staff together--whoops, the Yankees already did that, and NO, he's certainly not holding anything together. Hopefully this will be the start of another huge slide and the Yankees will continue on it for the next 10+ years. Can you imagine giving up Javy Vasquez to sign this punk? Oh those poor, poor Yankees...

Gawd, I actually held onto him in a fantasy keeper league. Only cost me a buck at auction last year, but so far he's barely been worth the $6 it cost me to keep him for this year. For my team's sake, I hope he's not a one-year wonder, but it wouldn't pain me to see him turn into a $9 million/year dud for the Yankees.

He really got a beating today, eh? Should be pretty quiet around here this evening.

Indeed they are - you know, I thought I even saw Murcerfan post somewhere here yesterday (or was I imagining that?). Talk about front-running - I don't think he's been here since it was 3-0 Yankees last fall!

  • that yankee payroll is a joke, it is out of control.the red sox have to spend just because they are in the same division. it's obvious the yankees will lose as many as they win this year. the beat down they took today was embarassing.as the season and summer heats up steinbrenners old men will wear down.injuries and fatigue will set in and they will not make the playoffs. this will be great for baseball as we will not have to see this tired old team come play-off time.image

And the only bright spot for NY was Arod (again)....2/2 and a walk in the 5 hole.

The yanks will not make the playoffs this year...this 17-1 beating was a sign of things to come.

They had won 16 of 18 or something like that before today. As much as I'd love for the sky to be falling over the Bronx, I don't know that today is an apocalyptic omen for the Yankees.

Heh. I remember the Red Sox tried so hard to get him. Wounded up having to "settle" for Matt Clement. image

I will save your post for future reference. I will put it in the "Axtell Rose insists he will not respond again to Gemmy10" folder.
