PCGS priceguide has values for 65 and 66 but for nothing else. What does this mean? Is this coin somewhat rare?

Actually, the price guide gives values for MS66 and MS67.
Ignoring the whole argument as to the accuracy of the PCGS Price guide, seeing missing values only means that there really are not enough "certified" 1972-S Lincolns graded above MS67 or below MS66 to give a good price estimate.
MS65's are clearly not worth paying PCGS to certify (thus the low populations in this grade) and MS68's are probably somewhat difficult to locate.
