Wrong Coin From Seller on E bay

Seller advertised the coin as BRAZIL 2000 REIS 1938 REEDED Item number: 3974885505 . This would be KM 542. The coin I got is Poygonal edge KM 548. I think I can see reeding in the picture posted by the seller. What do you guys think? I have contacted the seller and await his response.

I have had that happen a few times. Once the seller even let me keep the wrong coin and sent the right one too. Hope that the seller makes it right for you.

I have never had this happen with a coin, but I have with a book. I bought the wrong book and then went looking for the one I was really after. Can't have too many books after all!

It has happened to me both ways: as a seller and a buyer.

As a seller, I sent the wrong coin to one of my buyers, just a stupid mistake. He was very courteous about it and I resolved the problem quickly and entirely at my expense.

As a buyer, I have seen it happen a handful of times. Each time it was resolved amicably.

Its impossible to send out hundreds of coins every month and not have a foulup at some point. Although Im thankful it doesnt happen very often, I always admit our fault, make sure we send out the right coin immediately, and make sure that the buyer doesnt have any out of pocket expenses that are not reimbursed. So far the customer response has been very positive.

The ones that do get to me are the folks who send me a nasty email telling me that I sent them a "third-world country" banknote instead of the coin they bought. I then have to send them a reply where I tell them I hope they havent thrown away the piece of cardboard (Safe-T-Mailer) that was in the envelope, the one that has "MERCHANDISE ENCLOSED" in bold letters printed on the outside, because if they open it, they will find their coin inside image

Somehow, I dont get many replies to that email image

Just a update. E mailed the seller on the May 28th no reply. E mailed again today the June 1st. Funny thing he left positive feedback on the other coins I bought at the same time but not this one. That doesn't smell right. I realize this is a cheap coin but I at least expect a reply.
