You've done it. You KNOW you've done it. Now, confess.

Wade in the river, brothers. Wash away those transgressions. If you have purchased a card graded by a third-rate company, ease your troubled soul. The truth shall set us free.

This bad boy looks like the top edge was trimmed with a weed whacker. It somehow slipped past those sharp graders as BearStats Grading Services.

In my wilder days, I bought a 1971 Topps Nolan Ryan graded 10, with no scan. Turned out to be a screwdown with a homemade flip. The sad part is that the card probably would have pulled at lest a 7 if someone hadn't given it the once over. Maybe I'll post a scan later if I feel like I'm ready.

    Also, a 1977 Topps Ryan Gem 10.

The Gem crossed to a PSA 9 though.

I think I just got screwed on a '63 Mick. I'm going to start a new thread as soon as I have some more to drink.

Nope! The only graded cards I've ever owned are PSA. I have bid on a few pre-WW2 cards graded by SGC, but didn't win the bid. Other grading companies - to each his own but for me, no thanks.

Although I am considering PSG (Pogo Stick Grading) which is owned, endorsed and heavily advertised by a member here so they must be good, right? - LOL

I once bought an AGA 8 '57 Parkie common for like $12. (I think there's been 2 or 3 different incarnations of AGA, perhaps totally different operations, but this was the blue-labeled AGA that was commonly seen on Orr rookies of allegedly ill repute, I believe.) Amazingly, it crossed to a PSA 8 and I nearly quadrupled my investment in the card. Didn't try to catch lightning in a bottle again, though.
