Recently acquired the skinny eagle to the far right and thought it would be fun to post with 2 others. Do you know what's different between them??

Do you mean aside from the metal they are struck in?

Nope. #3 has been rotated relative to the first two.

It appears the metal is the only thing different. Looks like copper, brass, and then white metal.

Looks to me like the eagles in #1 and 2 are looking forward, in #3, it's looking at the viewer.

Perhaps that's just an optical illusion, but looks that way to me.

The body looks different on the third one?

I agree that the 3rd one looks like he is looking at you. I'll call it spooky. Is it a copy that someone came up with and decided to make it a bit funny?

I thought this "skinny eagle" thread would be about this kind of eagle.

Those're pretty nice, too, though. image

No big deal - just thought it would be fun to show some of the rarer 1858 small cent patterns.

    Left - J205 in Copper, R8
    Middle - J206, CN, R5
    Right - J207a, Ni, R8

Just bought the J207a this week from Andy Lustig. These off metal patterns are a fun extension of the 12 piece set.
