This is the greatest coin forum on the internet. I have been lurking around here for over a year but could never get the courage to post as this hobby is new to me.
I found this old wheat cent with a really strange strike. Check out under Lincoln's beard. Is this anything worth discussing? I have never seen anything like it.

Yep. That's something that can happen when the metal used to prepare the planchet had either air trapped in it, and/or had impurities. It can cause thin flakes of metal to partially or completely come away from the surface of the coin. The mark near the top of the head could be the same thing.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Laminated Lincoln. I appreciate the explanation of what it means. Now what do with it....
These laminations used to be more common especially on the Lincolns.
Apparently it's an optical illusion that makes this look like a DDO since it lacks the diagnostics.
What do you collect??

Looks like you have one of those Lincoln Cents that were made after he ate to much and developed a double chin.
Also have a complete Sacagawea set in a Dansco. I collect the mint and proof sets (the ones I can afford). I also buy coins that I like..interesting looking (well at least to me).
