What do a decent Scott #1 and #2 go for these days?

There are wide spreads for these stamps. It depends on condition, cancellation, and shades. You could probably get a used #1 in the $300-400 range undamaged. They can go up to $800 and more though. As for a used #2, I would think somewhere in the neighborhood of $600s and up. Seen these offered for a couple grand. Its like coin grading, the better condition of the stamp, the price can raise by multiples.

PSE's pop report shows a total of around 300 graded/encapsulated for the #1 and #2 together, used and mint. Certs are more common to find than "slabbed" stamps.

I wouldn't mind picking up a pair of those sometime but just don't know enough about them to do so.
