I got a package in the mail from topps. I had been waiting months for my 2003 red ink Johnny Sain auto. I got a replacment in the mail
today.....2004 Heritage Red Ink Bill Glynn numbered 1/55
I could use opinions on this..did I get screwed or would you be ok with that substitution? I was very surprised that they both book the same.
Thanks
Kevin

I do think it's poor customer service, they should have had the same card in perfect shape autographed by Johnny Sain to send back to you. Unless of course this guy passed away and it wasn't possible to get his autograph. Maybe this sounds unreasonable to some but in my whacky mind it's the only fair thing to do.
I would like to know why they still have #'d autographed cards laying around over at Topps rather than in packs for collectors to find though.
Plus it's a 1/1! WOW LQQK how awesome is that only one like it in the world no punctuation
"Pete Rose would walk through hell in a gasoline suit to play baseball." - Sparky Anderson
sell pretty well no matter who is on them.
What is probably most disturbing is that topps kept the 1/55 for over a year and a half....you kinda wonder what else they have
sitting back at the old mail office.

Kevin....YOU GOT HOSED!!!!
Call up tops and request another one if they are going to replace it like that....YANKEES ALWAYS GO FOR MORE.
just an opinion of a yankee himself...

<< <i>they would probably send me Steve Karly or something!

It's Steve Kraly, picked one up for my 55 set. They probably would send him , or Frank Leja who pitched one major league game EVER and topps gave him a card!

Also looking for 1953 Parkhurst & 1953 Quaker Oats Ripley's BION.
If you have any available for sale PM me
All things considered, I'd much rather have the Sain. I can't recall Bill Glynn ever being in a cool saying.

If you are going to sell the card, then you may be OK with the 1/55 auto but if it's for your collection, I would rather have a Braves/Yankee player - Sain had a winning record as a pitcher and of course is a Yank.
What are your plans? If it's to keep the auto - how about contacting Topps?
On stuff left over? I wouldn't put it past them to put it up in the vault in 10 years?
