Adobe PhotoShop: How do you crop a round shape like a coin?

I use Adobe PhotoShop to crop and manage digital pictures. The crop function (icon) I use gives me a square crop. I've seen other peoples pictures where one can crop round - just at the edges of the coin, so that the holder doesn't show. How do you do this in PhotoShop?

If you click on the square crop button, it should bring up a box to change it to the round one.

    Easiest way for me......

Square crop the image until the edges of the image are right at the edge of the coin... then, right-click(?) on the Square Crop Icon Thingy, and it'll bring up 2 options, one for square crop, and one for circle or round crop... select the round crop image Then go to one corner of your image... click and drag to the opposite corner... adjust as needed until the coin is inside the circle area thingy... then go File>Copy or Ctrl-C to copy it... File>New paintbucket in your desired background color, then File>Paste or Ctrl-V to paste it in, and voila! You're done image

Use the ellitical marquis tool and as you drag it, hold down the SHIFT key so it will be round, rather than elliptical. It takes a little practice to get it the right size. Taher than directly cropping, you're creating a selection, which you can then paste in a new layer, new image, etc.

I have been using the elliptical tool all along and trying to create the circle. It takes such a long time. I did not know there was an easier way. What a loser!

I use the round marquee and hold shift down and select an area roughly the size of the coin and move the selection into position. then I select inverse and go to image->clear to clear out the non-coin part.
